This work is a clear example of my intention to intermix or better yet juxtapose the disregarded figurative painting with the authoritarian abstract art hanging in this museum.
This is a premeditated painting enforcing the triangular composition on the figures in the foreground giving it a sculptural static pose symbolizing the affliction this museum has develop in the mind of the family.
The central figure, the man, is holding the rifle with a gaze of disconcert and revenge. Surrounding him are two sisters in agony, dressed in warm yellow and cold red symbols of cowardice, deceit, hazard and emergency.
Laying on the central figures knee and to his right the youngest generation, the most affected. They are dressed in blues and white, symbols of peace and purity; these colors are believed to keep the bad spirits away and are also associated with intelligence, stability, unity, and conservatism.
In this painting the play of light has great significance and is arbitrary, they are illuminated, in fact, with an exclusive light independent from that of their surroundings. |
